What Is Gasoline?
BettyJet delivers bulk gasoline in all standard octane grades — Regular 87, Mid-Grade 89, Premium 91, and E85 Flex Fuel. Bulk gasoline delivery eliminates the need for fleet drivers to stop at retail stations, saving time and reducing fuel costs.
Octane rating measures a fuel's resistance to pre-ignition, or "knocking." The Anti-Knock Index (AKI) displayed on gas pumps is the average of the Research Octane Number (RON) and Motor Octane Number (MON). Higher-octane fuels resist knocking better, which matters in high-compression and turbocharged engines.
Regular 87 is the most widely used grade, suitable for the majority of gasoline engines. Most fleet vehicles, including delivery vans and service trucks, specify regular unleaded.
Mid-Grade 89 bridges the gap between regular and premium. Some manufacturers recommend mid-grade for specific engine configurations. It is less commonly stocked in bulk but BettyJet can source it.
Premium 91 is required by vehicles with high-compression or turbocharged engines. Using regular fuel in an engine that requires premium can cause knocking, reduced performance, and potential engine damage. Using premium in an engine designed for regular provides no performance benefit.
E85 Flex Fuelcontains 51-83% ethanol depending on season and is only compatible with Flex Fuel Vehicles (FFV). E85 typically costs less per gallon but delivers approximately 25-30% fewer miles per gallon due to ethanol's lower energy content.
In Florida, nearly all gasoline contains up to 10% ethanol (E10). The ethanol content affects storage and shelf life — gasoline with ethanol can absorb moisture from humid Florida air, leading to phase separation in tanks. For marine and small-engine applications, ethanol-free gasoline is preferred when available.

How BettyJet Delivers Gasoline
Delivery Method
Tanker truck delivery to your site. Gasoline requires specialized compartmented tankers with vapor recovery systems. Available in full and partial loads.
Minimum Order
500 gallons (may vary by grade and location)
Storage Notes
Gasoline must be stored in UL-listed, properly vented above-ground or underground storage tanks. Florida fire codes require secondary containment, spill prevention, and proper grounding. Gasoline has a shorter shelf life than diesel — use within 3-6 months or add stabilizer.
Gasoline Frequently Asked Questions
What octane grades of gasoline does BettyJet deliver?
BettyJet delivers all standard octane grades: Regular 87, Mid-Grade 89, Premium 91, and E85 Flex Fuel. We can source specialty grades on request. Contact us at (813) 694-8898 for availability.
What is the difference between 87, 89, and 91 octane?
The octane number measures a fuel's resistance to pre-ignition (knocking). Regular 87 is suitable for most vehicles. Mid-grade 89 is for vehicles that recommend but don't require premium. Premium 91 is required by high-performance and turbocharged engines. Using a higher octane than required provides no benefit.
What is E85 and which vehicles can use it?
E85 is a flex fuel blend containing 51-83% ethanol (the percentage varies by season and region). Only vehicles designated as Flex Fuel Vehicles (FFV) can use E85. Using E85 in a non-FFV vehicle can damage the fuel system and engine. E85 typically costs less per gallon but provides fewer miles per gallon than regular gasoline.
Does Florida gasoline contain ethanol?
Yes. Nearly all gasoline sold in Florida contains up to 10% ethanol (E10). Ethanol-free gasoline is available in limited quantities but is not standard. Florida's warm climate means year-round E10 blends, unlike northern states that may adjust ethanol content seasonally.
What is the minimum bulk gasoline delivery in Florida?
BettyJet's minimum gasoline delivery is typically 500 gallons. Minimums may vary by octane grade and delivery location. For fleet fueling, we offer scheduled recurring deliveries to optimize your operations. Call (813) 694-8898 for details.
